2016 Major 3 Dyrham Park GC

"Bajan destruction at Dyrham"

The ACGA’s 3rd  Major took place at Dyrham Park, this very popular venue saw 40 members and guests do battle, Amongst the field were a number of members (you know who you are) who have not been able to take part in the champion of champions event because a major has been as elusive as the splitting of the atom or Tottenham finishing above Arsenal but  would this be the event?.

With the course looking in spectacular shape and on a 2 tee start, there were some great groupings but one group stood out, Richard Payne, Ricky coward, Greg Worrell and Randy Plowright.

Would Randy be coming in with a Bajan accent or would the Bajan boys take down the current European amateur tour champ.

As the dust settled after the first round one member stood out from the rest, the Bajan warrior Ricky coward delivering a strong 39pts and put one hand on the trophy, only one man bettered that score David Blackwood came in with an amazing 40pts but he was a guest so out of the running for the major prize,

Could Ricky hold his nerve to deliver his first major?

Well by securing another 33pts Ricky was able to get both his hands on his first major win with a 2pt lead the ever consistent Colin parsons and Donald Mcleod.

Special mention also goes out to David Blackwood who incredibly came in with 44pts in the afternoon to walk away with the guest prize and shouts of cut him, cut him, I hope that was with reference to his handicap!!!
