Del Manderson defies the pain barrier and storms to a win at Major 3. 1st Del Manderson - again. The last time I played with Del was years ago at Panshanger GC. I recall that on the 16th hole Mr D launched his driver straighter than the ball he had hit far, far, far, far far right and out of bounds just nano seconds earlier. Del, respect. A stalwart member since creation and a cornerstone of the Association. Del has provided us with more magic moments than Tommy Coopers note book. 2nd - Ingrid Clark. Wow - more popular than Vanilla Ice cream - Ingrid’s 2nd place was well received and quite emotional. An ever present, player and vocal supporter of ACGA her beaming smile was a sight to behold and visual representation of human spirit and kindness. Emotion aside - 2nd place was not gifted - she fought hard, played well and triumphed - Respect. Honourable mentions go out to Ossie ‘Nudge-it-up-the-fairway,-find-it-and-then-nudge-it-again” Roberts. 3rd Terry ‘Tezza” Morris both good knocks but not as good as Ingrid’s.
