Doctor James has the remedy….

Hector James wins his maiden major at the sunny Addington GC. - The Home of Ernie Owusu (Addington Captain).

We got served full English Breakfast and whilst it may not have moved the needle on Ernie’s popularity within the ACGA, it was much appreciated by his fellow Gonners. Resplendent in a white and blue combo, Ernie looked the part. Ernie, to date, had not won a major  but happy of his current form he had to be quietly confident. His ‘chatty mouth’, whilst good, was not “Carling” and Ernie, unfortunately fell short. 1st Place - Hector James. I played with Hector on the day and it was nice to find a real gentlemen; aside from myself that is and all the other Spurs supports in the ACGA (stop your noise I’m writing this and if it get’s edited out, some verbal licks will follow). Steady, the stinger at the  ready, Hector played good steady golf and never, ever, lost his grin.

2nd ….drum roll, bridesmaid again….Ernie Owusu. I genuinely feel for Ernie….my brother. He played his little heart out and the couple-couple points he dashed somewhere on the course probably kept him awake that. Not to worry, Ern, your time will come…..assuming Del  doesn’t cut you. Ern, quiz for you. Ern, for ten points what delicious addition too any British Desert connects Ambrosia, Birds and Tesco’s-Own brands? Honourable mentions ….oh blast!!! 3rd Place  Steve “ I saw it bounce just here’ Garner. Everybody’s favourite Association Member. As our resident Blob Master and Master of the “Font Row Put Down” aka DJ Cash-Money, Steve, whilst in his current, ceremonial role, will remain the most distinguished, best dressed, sophisticated, charming, witty and charismatic interlocutor, the like of which the Association will find hard to replace. I’m done.    4th Place - The remarkable Malcolm “Big OG” Ogarra. If you know Mal then respect, the things he has come back from are astonishing and this notable  position  tells us there’s still more to come.

So, I’m back. And looking forward to Pyford. It will be our first outing following the start of the 20/23 (Qatar World Cup) season. So let’s remember who we are, be respectful to all, honour those who came before us and pave the way for those who follow.

  1. Hector James 35 pts

  2. Ernie Owusu 34 pts

  3. Steve Garner 34 pts

  4. Malcolm O’Garro 34 pts
